Typical errors are a result of poor information, an incorrect origin classification or invalid EORI information for shipper or consignee mean clearances and cargo will be held under query by HMRC at the border and your supply chain interrupted.
The priority is to review and audit the information required for an entry.
The key information outside of the basic data such as your EORI number, deferment information and the transport route are commodity specific. Commodity codes have to be accurate, additional quantity and value codes checked, the origin of the goods, preference rates and any potential anti-dumping or counter surveillance duties must be considered.
